Privacy Policy
Effective October 30, 2026 · Applies to NABS Player on Samsung Smart TV (Tizen), LG Smart TV (webOS), and Android TV, and to this website.
The short version
- NABS Player is a player for your own Source. We do not provide IPTV service, channels, or subscriptions.
- There is no NABS account. We do not collect, receive, sell, or share your personal information.
- Your Source's server URL, username, and password are stored on your TV and sent only to that Source.
- No analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash reporting.
- Removing a Source, or uninstalling the app, deletes what was saved for it.
1. Who we are
NABS Player ("NABS", "we", "us") is a media player app for smart TVs, developed independently. This policy explains what information the app and this website handle, and the choices you have.
NABS plays content from a Source: an Xtream Codes compatible service that you subscribe to separately and add to the app yourself. NABS does not provide IPTV service, subscriptions, channels, content, or provider recommendations, and is not affiliated with any Source operator.
2. Information we collect
We do not collect personal information through the app. NABS has no account system and no NABS-operated servers that the app talks to. The app does not send us your Source details, what you watch, your search terms, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, location, analytics, crash reports, or diagnostics.
The only personal information we receive is what you choose to send us, for example when you email support (see This website).
3. Information stored on your TV
To work, the app saves the following on your TV only. It stays on the device and is not sent to us.
Source connection details
The server URL, username, and password you enter for each Source. Where they are stored depends on your TV:
| Platform | How your Source credentials are stored |
|---|---|
| Samsung Smart TV (Tizen) | Stored on the TV using Samsung WidgetData, the platform's app data storage. |
| LG Smart TV (webOS) | Stored only on the TV, in the app's private storage. |
| Android TV and Google TV | Stored in the app's private storage, encrypted with a key held by Android's Keystore. They are excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. |
Catalogs
Lists of Live TV channels, Movies, and Series from your Source, with details such as names, categories, descriptions, years, durations, program guide entries, and artwork addresses. These are cached so browsing is fast and works without downloading everything again.
Favorites, Recents, and Continue Watching
For each Source, the items you mark as Favorites, the items you opened recently, and your playback position in Movies and Episodes so you can resume them. These records hold the item's type, ID, title, and progress. They do not store playback addresses that contain your password.
Preferences
Your selected theme.
4. Network connections
- Your Source. The app connects directly from your TV to the Source you added, to sign in, load catalogs and program information, and stream video. Your username and password are sent only to that Source. On Android TV, these requests are made by the app on your TV; they do not pass through any NABS server.
- Artwork. Channel logos and posters are loaded from the addresses your Source supplies, which may be hosted by the Source operator or by others it chooses.
- HTTP Sources. If your Source address begins with
http://rather thanhttps://, your username, password, and viewing requests travel without encryption. We recommend using HTTPS where your provider supports it. The app does not intentionally bypass HTTPS certificate or redirect errors.
5. Third parties
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with anyone, and the app contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking code. Some parties outside our control may receive information as part of their own services:
- Your Source operator receives your sign-in details and the requests your TV makes to it, and handles them under its own privacy practices. Please review its privacy policy.
- Your TV maker and app store (Samsung, LG, or Google) may receive information such as installs, updates, and device data as part of operating their platforms. See the Samsung Privacy Policy, LG Privacy Policy, and Google Privacy Policy.
6. App permissions
NABS asks only for what it needs to play your Source:
- Internet access on every platform, to connect to your Source.
- App data storage (Samsung WidgetData on Tizen), to save your Source on the TV.
The app does not request access to your microphone, camera, location, contacts, or files.
7. Retention and deletion
Everything listed in section 3 stays on your TV until you remove it. You are in control:
- Remove a Source (Manage Sources) to delete its credentials, cached catalogs, Favorites, Recents, and progress.
- Clear a Source's downloaded catalogs to free space while keeping its login and activity.
- Remove single Favorites or Recents, or clear a Source's Recents or Continue Watching on their own.
- Uninstall the app to delete all of its data from the TV. Your TV's own storage management may also clear app data.
Because this data never reaches us, we have no copy to delete. Data held by your Source operator is governed by its own policies.
8. Security
Credentials are kept in each platform's app-private storage, as described in section 3, and are never written into your viewing history. Artwork addresses and metadata from your Source are checked before display, and addresses that could carry secrets are filtered out. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure; using an HTTPS Source and keeping your TV's software up to date helps protect you.
9. Children
NABS is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app collects no personal information from anyone. Content comes from the Source you choose; use your TV's parental controls to manage what is available.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, and California's CCPA/CPRA give you rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Because the app does not send us your information, the data on your TV is fully under your control through the steps in section 7.
We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, and we do not use it for profiling. If you have contacted us and want to exercise a right over that correspondence, email us and we will respond within the time the law requires. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

If you email support@nabsplayer.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to answer you and keep it only as long as needed to resolve your request. Please never send us your Source password.
12. Changes to this policy
If the app or this policy changes, for example if a future version adds a feature that handles data differently, we will update this page and the effective date above, and update the summary shown inside the app before the change takes effect.
